Ka Poʻe Lawaiʻa is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing traditional Hawaiian fishing knowledge, strengthening cultural connections, and encouraging responsible stewardship of our ocean and natural resources.
Our community events welcome keiki, ʻohana, and community members. Specific age requirements or participation guidelines, when applicable, will be included with each event.
No. Many of our activities provide opportunities for participants to learn fishing skills and gain hands-on experience. Event details will identify any specific experience or requirements needed to participate.
Equipment varies depending on the event. When fishing equipment or supplies are provided by Ka Poʻe Lawaiʻa, that information will be included in the event details. Please review the information for the specific event before attending.
Many of our community events are offered free of charge. Any cost, registration requirement, or other participation information will be clearly identified in the event announcement.
